Ben Hutcheson commented on PLC4X-190:
-------------------------------------

Generating Java classes from a Nodeset file. This could be converted from
NodeSet->Mspec->Java as we already have some of this built. Handling any
methods specified in the nodeset file need an extension to mspec though. To
handle these it'd be nice to generate a generic handler for the method, groovy
could come in handy here as the methods probably shouldn't be run all the time
and would need to be user configurable.

I might put together a Java class as an example to see what would need to be
done to integrate it.

> As the major plc providers are starting to support OPC-UA they also started
> to standardized the data structures in it with
> [https://opcfoundation.org/markets-collaboration/umati/]
> UMATI. As PLC4X aims to connect all kinds of PLCs to one layer a connector or
> mapper from PLC to UMATI (OPC-UA) based format enhances our approach and
> enables all kinds of PLCs to map to UMATI as easily as possible.
