   What's the point in re-parsing `serialized`? Why not assert its _exact_

   I think having all those individual test methods that call into 
`verifyRoundTrip()` is confusing. Let's have one `@ParmeterizedTest` method 
with a `@MethodSource` to general all those input permutations.

Review Comment:
   Actually, what value does this test add on top of `verifyRoundTrip()`? We 
can have empty strings as one of the input options to `verifyRoundTrip()` in 
the parameterized test discussed above.
   
   Side benefit: we do not need to worry about `"""` String literals in that
