Essentially I just want to ensure that `currentTableEntity` always returns a
valid table entity for the `BasePolarisTableOperations`. It looks like it's
`null` before `doRefresh` or `doCommit`. And if one of those calls in in
progress, the value is ambiguous and potentially not in sync with the other
metadata.
Maybe that's fine though, I just wanted to confirm.
