This makes sense and the scoped bootstrap-first approach feels like the right starting point. Focusing on a one-time crawl from a user-defined table root (with arbitrary partition-style subdirectories like year/month/day/hour) and generating Iceberg metadata + manifests from existing Parquet files already unlocks a big ingestion use case. Once that foundation is stable, extending the same abstraction to Paimon and then layering incremental updates (scheduled crawl or event-triggered) feels like a natural evolution. Happy to help review or test the Iceberg bootstrap path once there’s a design proposal or prototype. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
