Thanks for the nice reproducer! I did notice when running the BigQuery checks that one of the polygons was invalid (which is why those imports use the "make valid" version of the WKB constructor, because the query fails otherwise). I didn't implement an "is valid" or "make valid" but the message is something about crossing edges. (That might be a separate issue!) -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
