Houston, I like your proposal for that directory structure.
As to module/JAR naming... I've seen this approach before. I was hoping that
most Solr users would continue to just depend on a {{solrj}} named dependency
and only get the "core" stuff. Most users don't need the extras. Publishing a
{{solrj}} as a kitchen-sink I think promotes bloat that is needless.
