I've lately been thinking of this issue as +the+ move away from Apache 
HttpClient altogether (and thus use of SolrClient implementations based on it), 
not specifically CloudLegacySolrClient as it's titled.  I don't think 
decomposing the overall effort by SolrClient subclass is most useful in 
hindsight.  I should edit the issue accordingly unless folks disagree.
