Is it the cutterslade plugin that enforces this verbosity? I'm glad you are complaining so that it's not just me who complains about excessive specificy/declarations! I don't think what you notice relates to cutterslade. The bom *should* effectively mean we don't need to specify the versions of dependencies that it refers to, although we still need to reference the dependencies in various build.gradle. I went into our toml and replaced `, version.ref = "google-cloud-core"` with `` (nothing), as a quick experiment, and I see it worked.
