Once this goes through, here is the plan:
First, I’ll add parity tests for repeated `parents.preFilter` in the
byte-vector and remaining nested parent-retrieval paths.
Then, I’ll do a small cleanup refactor so `preFilter` and
`parents.preFilter` use the same filter-subquery parsing logic in one place.
Finally, I’ll check whether we should add a brief docs note so the
multi-valued `parents.preFilter` behavior is explicit for users.
I can make one PR for this or a couple of incremental PRs for proper scope,
depending upon the feedback.
