@epugh good catch, and yes, that's intentional. For core-level requests HttpSolrCall does more of its own processing before the request reaches Jersey's `SolrRequestAuthorizer`, so skipping the servlet-level check there isn't the same small change it is for container-level APIs. I kept this PR scoped to the container-level case. Would you be okay with me opening a separate JIRA for the core-level JAX-RS case and linking it here?
