Closing as stale. Two things were at play: the probes need `blockUnknown: false` under `authentication` (or `probesRequireAuth: true` so they send credentials), and the operator only supports BasicAuth — with `HadoopAuthPlugin`/LDAP the operator's own calls to Solr are not authenticated either, so a custom `security.json` of that shape is outside what the operator can drive. Also note that a `security.json` already present in ZooKeeper is never overwritten, so testing changes requires clearing the ZK data as well.
