   Taking the two asks separately:

**Log level** — `spec.solrLogLevel: WARN` is the right field, and the chart
exposes it as `solrOptions.logLevel`. It's passed to the pod as
`SOLR_LOG_LEVEL`, so check that env var on the pod to confirm it arrived. Note
this covers Solr only; the embedded ZooKeeper's log level comes from the
zookeeper-operator, not from here.

**JSON to console** — supply a custom `log4j2.xml` in a ConfigMap whose
console appender uses `<JsonTemplateLayout/>`. No extra jars are needed: Solr
has shipped `log4j-layout-template-json` in its server libs since 8.10/9.0
([SOLR-15610](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-15610)). There is no
built-in JSON config to toggle, so the config file is the way in. The operator
points Solr at it via `LOG4J_PROPS` and rolls the pods when it changes — see
https://solr.apache.org/guide/operator/latest/solr-cloud/custom-solr-config.html#custom-log-configuration

Closing as answered — please reopen with the pod's `SOLR_LOG_LEVEL` value
and your spec if the level still isn't taking effect.
