Anirudh Ramanathan commented on SPARK-22853:
--------------------------------------------

The CNCF owns the trademark for Kubernetes but not k8s. However, the project
itself has been referred to as k8s and kubernetes interchangeably at times.
I'll talk to the CNCF and see if they recommend a particular one.

In addition to the point about new users that Sean mentioned, my other concern
might be that it would break existing users of our fork.
Our fork has some additional features we haven't upstreamed yet, and a
reasonable amount of usage.
For ex, Intel's BigDL (https://github.com/intel-analytics/BigDL/pull/2023).
This change would definitely break them if they were to try and move to point
upstream.
