Dongjoon Hyun commented on SPARK-25075:
---------------------------------------

[~ijuma]. We cannot consider dropping Scala 2.12 until we have a *stable* Scala
2.13. At least, one Scala version should be stable, shouldn't it?

For now, Apache Spark 3.2 is going to be the first release with Scala 2.13
support and `Feature Freeze` for Spark 3.2 is July 1st.

After releasing Spark 3.2 with Scala 2.13, we will evaluate the adoption of
Scala 2.13 and the stability in the end-user's perspective (apps). Some users
might try Scala 3 on Apache Spark 3.2 because Scala community claims Scala 3 is
binary compatible with Scala 2.13. We are expecting some references from them
or bug reports.
