Environment: gcc 4.2.x, 4.3.x, 4.4.0, x86_64 (was: gcc 4.3.0, 4.3.1)
The ICE occurs with all releases of gcc starting with 4.2, all the way to 4.4,
but only on platforms where va_arg is an array (e.g., x86_64 and POWER).
