Forked struts-examples. I can't work on all of the TODOs.
Let me tell you that I created the TODOS, and the original project pro-crud,
with the intention stated in:
WW-4324 - Examples and tutorials for database applications
WW-4325 - Support professional development in a structured way
Instead of pro-crud I can work on my fork of struts-example, and eventually
create pull requests. To achieve this, I will ask for revision or advice in
users group because you are the ones who know the best practices for Struts,
I'm just a newbie. Showing best practices and real professional approaches in
examples and documentation is great for newcomers and for developers or
managers considering Struts2 as the building framework for their web projects.
Bearing in mind this, the idea is to create more "TODOs": IoC, JPA, abstract
base class for crud, etc...for incrementally continue the series of "Getting
started" tutorials (struts examples in general). The final objective I had in
mind is to create, based on this code, a project template, or archetype, with
all common web patterns covered in a fully and professionally usable way,
strongly recommended by Struts2. Often, a good tool is not enough, usually for
best performance you also need good training, advice, guidance... At least,
that's what I often miss when I start using some new tool. Maybe showcase
example is right for that, but maybe it is improvable the way I am coming up
with.
By now I start working with current TODOs, I'll let you know.
