Today, I installed Microsoft Office 2010. Up to now, I have had no issues using
both MS Office and Open Office independently of each other. Now suddenly, Word
has taken over, and if I simply double click an Open Office document to open
it, rather than opening in Open Office, it opens in Word.

I've looked and I can't find any setting anywhere in either program that will
prevent this. Of course, I can select "Open With," but that will get tedious
very quickly as I prefer to do most of my work in Open Office rather than MS
Office.

Plus, I just REALLY don't like that MS Office basically became some sort of
parasite and made that change without my permission. I'm hoping you can help me
find a way to put things back the way they were.

I know this isn't really a bug in the Open Office program--at least, I don't
think it is--but I don't know how else to go about getting help with this
issue.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
