Apologies for the late reply. I haven't had time to look at this in fine

No changes in that area that I could find.
bq. Do you have some idea of the performance of this code in Yahoo clusters?
I don't have hard numbers, but I have not ever heard or seen the AM spending a
significant amount of time in spec exec evaulation code in MapReduce.
