I've had some time to look at this patch and try it out on a small cluster. For
the most part, this is working well as an equivalency to MR. Until speculation
is run at scale, it may be hard to predict what are the pressing improvements
that are missing that will have an impact. However, will any of the proposed
changes have an impact to user API? I'm assuming no, but want to verify.
