Took a while, but it hung (in the same dag) again last night.  I'll attach the 
stack dump from the AM.  What jumps out at me from this is that there are two 
pairs of DataStreamer and ResponseProcessor threads, which had most likely been 
running since the application hung (about 11 hours before the stack dump was 
generated).  Both of these thread pairs are regarding recovery blocks, which 
contain 10.102.173.130 in the block name.  That is the address of the standby 
namenode, not the active.
