Ah, so it has nothing to do with this fix, or this feature I think. It's simply
your nginx not doing gzip when there's a Via: header like that. I have no idea
why that would be, you'd have to check with the nginx people.
Does it make a difference if it's "1" or "2" in your setting? The "2" adds a
more verbose Via: header, maybe that's what nginx gets unhappy about.
This fix is to make sure that the various verbosity settings works properly (0,
1, 2 or 3 all have different meanings).
