Dan Morgan commented on TS-4026:
--------------------------------

Parent caching really won't work in our environment, and CARP isn't even
available until release 7.1.

There are also recent bugs reported for clustering, so to say you thought no
one was using it doesn't really hold water.

For example the bug introduced in 6.2.0:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TS-4742

I understand that there's nothing I can do now, but definitely am disappointed
that a feature that worked so well for so long (at least for us) was removed.
And I'm a little worried about how CARP will fit into our environment with our
dozen or so home-grown plugins and how it will interact with them. Plugins
especially global ones are very sensitive to ordering. And it will certainly
take some digging to figure out where in our order we might be able to insert
CARP. With clustering we didn't have to worry about any of those issues.
