I talked about this with a couple other committers over breakfast this morning.
The proposal to remove clustering for ATS 7.0.0 was made 3 months ago on August
20th and this ticket has been open for over a year to remove clustering. There
have been open bugs for clustering for awhile and no one has been working on
them. Are you willing to support the feature until we have a complete
replacement that would meet your needs?
The majority of the clustering code was left in and only the configuration
parts to enable it were removed. I was able to cleanly revert
2474b33f6655e9d4fb6e4887797f77a0a957714b and it compiles. I don't have a setup
to test clustering myself.
