The pull request above completed license updates to the core directory and the
tests directory. The change for [TRAFODION-1433] pull request #50 took care of
most of the files in the installer directory as well (though it appears at
least one was missed). It also removed the LICENSES.txt file in the install
directory. So, the remaining work is:
1. A NOTICES.txt file with the proper text has been added to the root
directory. I notice that some of the subdirectories (e.g. dcs) have NOTICES.txt
files of their own. It might be the case that we need to roll these up into the
top-level file.
2. Copyright text has been updated in the core, tests and installer directories
(with perhaps a file or two missed in the install directory). The remaining
directories must still be checked. The dcs directory has files with TWO
copyrights in them: The old HP-style copyrights + the correct Apache
copyrights. The appropriate action is to remove the old HP-style copyright text
from them. I have not looked at the other directories.
3. The copyright text for executables remains to be updated. For sqlci in
particular the text seems to be in file sql/common/copyright.h. The trick is to
figure out what to replace the Hewlett-Packard banner with. The HBase shell
banner has distro and build information in it. Not clear what we should do for
sqlci. Trafci also needs to be looked at.
4. In the root directory, the pom.xml file has <organization>Hewlett
Packard</organization> in it. We need to ask if that should be changed.
