  in fact, mbsync does contain code to omit deleted messages from
  propagation. however, this code should not trigger unless the target
  mailbox is being expunged, and your configuration does not suggest
  that it is (unless you cut off something).

a run with the -D option (no -V needed at this point) would clarify
that.
