i rewrote the history of all branches to retroactively fix a git setup
glitch (and removed some minor "history noise" on the way as i was doing
revisionism anyway). i forgot to announce that, indeed. that was an
exceptional action, and is not going to happen again (except maybe to
fix some grave mishap shortly after it happens).

my feature branches otoh are subject to rewriting all the time. that's
not going to change.

yes, i know. sorry for that. for all i know you are the only one who
ever maintained a branch (you still do? why? let's talk about it!), so i
considered the total impact quite acceptable (everybody else can recover
with a simple 'git fetch && git reset --hard origin/master').
