Thanks. This works indeed, but I knew it already. The problem with this solution is that the many error messages will hide any possible other errors.

I now simply list all the folders to be synced explicitly. This means that I have to update the config file at least once per year when the new yearly folders appear, but that's OK.

I think that being able to apply wildcards selectively to the master or the slave would be a useful feature, but I imagine that you also want to limit the complexity of isync configuration.
