I'm not sure what I am doing wrong exactly, and how I > can get the local message to be deleted. > you can't. expunges are not synchronized. it would be technically possible to add support for that (with uidplus-supporting servers), but the question is what the underlying use case is and whether it cannot be better addressed in a different way (that is less prone to accidental deletion, too).
