Ok, great. But what are the corresponding sync state files?
that part is documented along the SyncState option.
1. Backup local maildirs somewhere mbsync doesn’t touch
2. Delete all mails on the server side
3. Delete .mbsyncstate and .uidvalidity in all the local maildirs
you can leave the .uidvalidities alone, it doesn't matter.
4. Run `mbsync account-group'
