Position: SQL DBA/Developer Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: 3+ months Rate: $45-50/Hr Best AN IN-PERSON INTERVIEW MAY BE REQUIRED!! Atleast 7+ years exp required!! Job Description: Client is currently seeking an intermediate level MS-SQL Database Administrator with administration and development experience. This position is primarily responsible for SQL 2000 and 2005 database maintenance in development, test, and production environments. Job functions include: Manage database backups by determining and implementing appropriate strategies Periodically test backups to ensure database recoverability Run integrity checks and analyze results to identify areas to be addressed Maintain indexes with periodic rebuilds and defrags Review SQL Server Error, SQL Agent, Database Mail, and Windows Event logs daily to identify issues Manage SQL Server Agent jobs Monitor database performance using Performance Monitor, Profiler, Execution Plans, Index Tuning Wizard, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, etc to find and fix performance issues Document database changes, job schedules and any development Create and test disaster recovery plans Manage security roles and users SQL coding for database data refreshes, database monitoring, promoting developer code to production Experience: 5+ years of increasingly responsible IT experience including minimum 3+ years of MSSQL Server 2000 and 2005 database administration Experience administering OLTP databases in a production environment Experience with system performance monitoring, database optimization, backup and recovery Experience developing and maintaining database security models SQL programming including DML and DDL BS/BA in an Information Technology or related discipline required Knowledge of: Database administration best practices including installation, maintenance, security, backups, performance tuning Highly motivated; demonstrates initiative and responsibility Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment with multiple competing tasks Highly Desired: Some experience as an Oracle DBA desired MS SQL Server certification desired Some data warehouse experience helpful Experience with SQL Server replication desired Experience with Visual Source Safe and/or Team Foundation Server desired. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "IT provider" group.
