Urgent requirement for Data Warehouse PA Data Warehouse - Data Warehouse PA Qty: 1 Desired Start Date: 11/3/2008 Desired End Date: 6 Months 52 /hr bill rate. Department Description Overview: Application Management and Support, Production Systems is responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, debugging, support and documentation of programming applications to satisfy requirements of one or more user areas. . Typically provides 24-hour daily production and technical support to assigned systems. Provides comprehensive technical consultation to business unit and IT management and staffs. . Works closely with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes to develop or modify existing systems to support the business. . Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations. . This is a Supervisor position providing management of build and run activities for the Specialty Pharmaceutical business units. . This position will be primarily responsible coordinating support and development activities for the existing Specialty applications. II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities: . Provide senior level technical support for various Microstrategy and Business Objects installations . Resolve break/fix cases related to reporting issues . Design, develop and deploy reporting enhancements . Continuously work to reduce the number of repeatable production issues . Ensure that break fixes cases are closed within the defined operation level agreement . Interpret business requirements and define technical alternatives, tools, and platforms . Provide research support for in-depth business issues . Be available 24x7 for production issues . Collaborate with other technical areas to integrate solutions . Share and transfer technical knowledge with team members . Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved . Other duties as assigned III. Position Requirements: Reports to: Manager, Applications Development Education or Equivalent: (Minimum required to perform job) . Four year degree or equivalent experience . 7+ years of total IT experience . 5 years of reporting and data warehouse experience . 5 years of Microstrategy and Business Objects experience . Microstrategy experience is required . Business Objects XI a plus . Experience with Teradata, Oracle and SQL Server . Must possess strong SQL skills . In-depth technical knowledge of reporting concepts and technologies . Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills . Candidate must have strong analytical skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Physical/Mental Requirements: . Extensive knowledge of technical tools within own area of responsibility. . Able to work independently and as a member of a high performance team. . Excellent communication and judgment skills. . Experienced in identifying and organizing the implementation of solutions to issues within and outside of own areas of responsibilities. . Experienced in negotiating the issue resolution process, risk assessment, decision point, and criteria. .
