Position: Tools Engineer Location: San Jose, CA Duration: 6-12 months Skills needed: Python, Perl, jQuery and Django is nice to have Position Description: Working under the supervision of a Tech Lead, the Engineer will be part of a small team that is responsible for the design and implementation of numerous tools for a group within Network Engineering for Operations. Some examples of work will be to quickly design and implement Python Django web applications doing both front-end and back-end work. The back-end work will be using Python 2.7 while the front-end work will be Django templates, jQuery 1.8.2 UI and CSS. There may also be Python web service development in either SOAP or REST. The position is a full-time (40 hours per week), contract position. Responsibilities: * Install, maintain, support various 3rd party tools. (PERL, Django, jQuery, Nose, python modules, MySQL, etc) * Adapt and integrate existing PERL tools to Python. * Design/implement tools (backend and frontend) for both Network Engineers and internal customers. * Automating Network tasks, and streamlining operational workflows in a multi-vendor network * Develop dashboards, alerts and system monitors.
