Please forward the resumes to [email protected] Position: Sr. Data Analyst Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 6 Months Must be local to *San Francisco only * *Description*: A natural "numbers "person with strong technical skills who can roll up the sleeves and answer business questions by formulating ways to create hypothesis tests and by directly interrogating business data resident on SQL Server and Oracle databases. The successful candidate will typically come from the kinds of industries that have analogous large volumes of data would be financial services, telecom, possibly healthcare, retailers or any other where there are lots and lots of discrete & diverse transactions that could be measured & tied to individual customers. *REQUIRED SKILLS: * Possess strong experience scoping out business requirements, understanding data flow diagrams and UMLs, creating analytical reports in Excel. Candidates should have firsthand knowledge of pivot tables as well as their limitations. They need to be able to prove that they can write basic analytical SQL freehand w/o use of tools. Must be able to communicate well with both programmers and business partners. Will often be responsible to translate the raw numbers into reports that our business partner can both understand and value. Experience with applied data analysis on account or customer-level datasets with diverse and extensive transaction volume is required. Solid database skills used for business analysis and forecasting are critical to this role. Should have background in quantitative analysis performed against data sets residing on SQL databases—preferably MS SQL SERVER.
