Cisco Network Analyst

Scope and Requirements: The Network Analyst must be available on a full time
basis and be able to install, customize, and maintain network hardware and
software in a statewide TCPIP based network. The position will be part of
the network support group that will be responsible for the entire life cycle
(planning, analysis, design, code, test and production support) for network
software and hardware. The individual who staffs this position needs to have
an extensive understanding of the suite of technologies in use within
client.
Skills Desired:
• The selected candidate must be able assist in the support of system
software and hardware used on TCPIP based high speed networks.
• This includes diagnosis of problems and implementation to ensure that
software and firmware is at current levels.
• The candidate should be capable of researching emerging technologies and
possible application to Client.
• The candidate will be viewed both internally and externally as a technical
expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines.
Specific Skill Requirements:
• Ability to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot medium-size (Cisco
IOS based) routed and switched networks.
• Ability to install, customize and maintain DHCP network server software.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot Cisco VLANs and access control lists
(ACLs).
• Possess a working knowledge of the following protocols: TCP/IP, BGP,
EIGRP, RIPv2 and VOIP utilizing associated Cisco IOS.
• Possess a working knowledge of WiFi Controllers, Access Points, client
configurations and associated WiFi security protocols.
• Possess a working knowledge of implementation and verification of
connections to remote sites in a WAN/MAN environment.
• Possess a basic knowledge of security threat mitigation, to include
customizing, updating, monitoring and troubleshooting Intrusion
Detection/Prevention devices and their related hardware and software.
Experience:
• Four years of experience in computer networking and/or client server
systems support.
Additional Required Skills and Experience:
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience in working with industry accepted requirements methods and
practices and tools.
• Exceptional analytical skills necessary to identify and resolve technical
issues or problems.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to work well in a challenging environment.
• Must be able to follow-through on tasks as assigned.
• Experience in conducting tool evaluations.
• Ability to work cooperatively and in conjunction with other information
system staff.
