*Location: San Francisco, CA*

*Duration: 4 months *



*Must Have*

Strong Knowledge of AIX platform (5.3 and higher version) and fundamentals.

Good understanding of troubleshooting & AIX Commands.

Experience in building server from scratch, installing OS components,
software tools etc.

Strong experience in interfacing of external devices like Storage,
Networking and backup devices.

Capability to lead and plan Security setup for AIX and related systems.

Worked in Data Center Modernization project in the past.

Technical Exposure of IBM Technologies like PowerVM,Power7 Architecture,
IBM Storage and TSM

Strong Experience in AIX Server High Availability, AIX Virtualization, AIX
Server Performance management

OS Performance tuning & management, Hardware Upgrade, OS Upgrade, Server
Partitioning, Managing core files Kernel Tuning, Kernel Patching, Kernel
Recovery & Troubleshooting, H/W Crash Analysis, OS Crash Dump Analysis,
Capacity planning OS & Software Depot Management, Cloning & Golden Image
creation, Volume manger administration, Cluster implementation, HA Cluster
Configuration/ re- configuration, NIS Administration/ configuration, DNS
Administration/ configuration, DHCP.



*Experience with: *

IBM Aix pSeries to design implement and support

HMC, LVM, VIO and LPAR configuration and support.



*Experience supporting IT infrastructure, with heavy emphasis on: *

IBM pSeries hardware, Installation/configuration, Performance monitoring
and tuning, Security, Extensive troubleshooting skills

AIX 6.1 Operating configuration and support

Scripting tools

High Availability

Backup and recovery

Implementation of server standards and maintenance.

Maintain integrity and reliability of server environment.

Solid exposure to enterprise architecture.



*Good to have*

Strong concepts of networking like TCP / IP.

Knowledge of ITIL process.

AIX/HACMP certification is added advantage

Shell/ Perl scripting with respect to OS admin
