Correct it does not. This leads me to ask the question:
"How do I flatten a completed form to remove XFA and make the
document just plain old PDF so I can print it anywhere (e.g. without
acrobat)?"
I assumed (incorrectly it appears) that the PdfStamper did this for me.

You provided not enough information for anybody
to guess what is wrong. If I mail my doctor and
I ask him why my head aches, he won't be able to
answer me either. I'm best placed to know the answer:
I had to wait in the rain for almost an hour when
I went to the JavaOne Afterglow last week. I caught
a cold, and I have been in bed with fever. I wasn't
online as much as I use to be in the weekend.

Et voilĂ , there's your answer.
The viewer on your unix box probably doesn't know
the first thing about XFA.

That's not what I've read in the original question.
If you print it on your PC it works.
This tells me this is not an iText problem.
There's a 99% chance the problem lies with your PDF
rendering software.
Please post further questions to the mailing list.
I don't know, but I think I have the right to stay
in bed when ill (unless there's some exception for
F/OSS developers I haven't heard of).

PDF form will not print once form filled in.
Hi Guys,
I've looked through the archives and cannot see this particular problem,
even though I'm sure it has a simple answer.
- I've created a form in LiveCycle.
- I've generated some iText code to complete the form.
So now I have 2 PDF files, the form template and the completed form (which
iText has generated).
I can print both from my PC file.
But if I take the two docs to another machine and print to a PS Level 3
printer the form template prints fine but the completed form does not.
- I thought it might be fonts, so I've forced the use of Helvetica
throughout, but still no luck.
- I thought it might be PDF version so I've tried changing the PDF version
using:
writer.setPdfVersion(PdfWriter.VERSION_1_X);
(I've set X to 4, 5, 6 etc with no difference). And still no
luck.
I have to admit I'm stumped so any suggestions welcome.
Jim
