I use PNG all the time because it's the only one that provides transparency colors properly. Look at this image seen at 100%; http://www.nabble.com/file/p16531246/adobe0.jpg Compare the image with this image; http://www.nabble.com/file/p16531246/adobe1.jpg This is seen at 50% using Adobe reader 8 with "Smooth images" on in "Rendering" properties. You can clearly see the black border line! If you look at the previous image, there is not a single pixel that has black color! It's gray color. Suddenly black color border is generated. I tested this using Word documents.
