I don't know for sure, but iText doesn't change the original form.
It doesn't decrypt/encrypt the 'signature' that 'enables' the form.
All iText does, is adding extra information at the end of the file,
as described in the PDF Reference.

Right - which is what Acrobat/Reader itself do when you fill in and save the form.

Definitly, Adobe needs a library like iText in their LiveCycle solution,


Adobe already includes iText in every copy of LiveCycle, as we use it for a few very specific features. We just don't expose the .jar files for use by anyone else.
