Well, I'd be ready to dedicate some time to analyze the problem, but I 
would need a little bit of assistance since how would I know why Adobe 
Reader 7 renders OpenType font subsets created by iText correctly while 
Adobe Reader 8 does not. Maybe with an application other than iText it 
is possible to create a small example PDF document containing an 
OpenType font subset working in Adobe Reader 8. Comparing this example 
document with one created by iText could give a chance to find out the 
differences.
