Thank you, Bruce. I finally figured it out (by one-by-one removing the
user libraries on the buildpath). iText is embedded in one of the gwt
jars (gwt-benchmark-viewer.jar).
It seems strange that Eclipse doesn't provide an easy way to locate the
jar file for a referenced class. (It is very easy in MS .NET IDE to
locate the .dll file containing any referenced classes.
Any way, the new iText version is working now.

If that's not it could you just search the directory tree and find it
that way? You might also check the config files for eclipse like
the .classpath folder it generates and see what it points to.
