EPS is a vector format, so it will be stored as a form XObject. It could be very difficult to find the position of that XObject because there are no examples available that show how to do this. For instance: if there's more than one form XObject on a page, how are you going to determine which XObject used to be the EPS image? There's no real answer to that question.
