Good question. I'm generally conservative but I'm all for going to the latest release of a crypto library. I'm not sure how this will impact other users that rely on BC on other apps alongside iText and can't upgrade but I suppose that that is already a problem with the other versions, 1.37 versus 1.46, for example.
