Kishore, The question you ask is really a GENIVI question, and it really depends upon the specific API you are targeting. Some GENIVI APIs offer services to other 'middleware components', others to the application layer. So, I guess the answer to your specific question is - no, the APIs are not used _only_ between Application Layer and Middleware layers.
