Did you at least get the weston desktop shell before you installed the HomeScreen packages?
If no, then it's most likely an issue related to 3D acceleration... what is your environment (VMware version and host OS)? My ivi-tizen-3.0 was released on 29th of August, initially, the home screen was Weston desktop shell , so that I followed the way which described on the wiki : zypper install ico-uxf-weston-plugin ico-uxf-homescreen, then reboot your platform. When the OS powered on again, the home screen was blank screen there. Then I tried a lost times to restart, there were only twice times that I saw the New Home Screen, when I touched some buttons on the screen, the system halted! Is it my hardware problem? I run the system on Vmware. [Geoffroy] I tested this quickly on my system and that worked. I had to change both these variables in /etc/sysconfig/wrt before though: ELM_ENGINE=wayland_shm ECORE_EVAS_ENGINE=wayland_shm This is also a good reminder to me that I need to update the wiki page as a few things have changed in the new August monthly preview.
