Subject: wifi direct. WPS.

Hi,

We are using https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/IVI#Tizen_3.x_codebaseas the codebase
for a new product on the BayTrail.
After correcting some issues with the udev rules, we have a functional wifi
interface using the ath9k_htc driver.

However WifDirect doesnt seem to be functional - and the wifidirect-manager is
not installable either.

Please could you advise on the steps required to enable this
functionality on x86 silicon.
I believe the current scripts in wifi-direct-manager tend to treat x86
as an "EMUL" target and not a real one.

is it just a matter of recompiling the wifi-direct-manager and the
supplicant with the right options?
The information on IVI is quite vague and unprecise - and yes, we can
get the p2p_ to resolve the PIN synchronization but who takes care of
the WPS on IVI?
I believe this is the role of the wifidirect-manager?

thanks

Jorge

Thanks all for the info sharing: It is very much appreciated.
The wiki page for IVI WIFI direct could do with some schedules and clear status though. Maybe something like "feature not implemented. expected beta release by Q2 2014"? I am not sure how the Tizen project does its planning but I believe there is a team driving the plan and not just the community? This is just my personal feedback (not aiming to criticize the great work being done!) but is is just that it is difficult to plan product features otherwise. During the last few days I have installed and I believe fixed a number of issues with the libwifi direct, the wifi direct manager, and the wpa supplicant and start up scripts and vconftool settings for x86 but the WPS is still pending. We will postpone integration of this particular feature until something functional is posted on the repos (we are behind on some other deliverables)
again many thanks for the fast turnaround!
