Hi everyone

Hi

I am testing QT/EFL application launch time from ICO-HomeScreen,but the launch time is about 4 seconds.
Same behaviour on Qt than EFL ? good :)

I analyze the NG log,and find result as below:

(a) When QT application is laundch by AUL module,until the function [bind_shell] of weston-ivi-shell module is called,consumption time is 1 second.(Below step:2-->3) (b) Until the function [shell_get_shell_surface ] of weston-ivi-shell module is called,consumption time is 1.5 second.(Below step:3-->4)

So i think the point is to find the caller of function [bind_shell] and [shell_get_shell_surface ].

I have two question for help, any answer is appreciate.

Qeustion1:Are 「bind_shell」 and 「shell_get_shell_surface」 called by QT-Wayland? (I search source of QT-Wayland,but i did not find the right one)

Please file a bug to make sure it will be sorted and track Qt and ivi-shell support

AFAIK QtWayland does not suppport ivi-shell
Only WL-shell (and optionally xdg-shell but It will conflict w/ IVI shell ) and then using the bind_shell function you mentioned

So ico-uxf-weston-plugin should force to use wl_shell as fallback on Qt apps
and not interact w/ ivi-shell , right ?

Probably the same on EFL apps but please double check
I am unsure since ivi-shell
has been upstreamed into efl-1.12 at least
(IVI still uses 1.9.3)

Hope this help, and good luck for sorting this out,
somce weston-ivi-shell contains many downstream changes

Regards
