Thanks for the response. I just tried the cold boot with no module
options, and there's no change.
I don't know a lot about ivtv (I've only been playing with it for a few
days) but is it odd that I would get these messages on the same
attempt? Is it possible I just have a bad board??
--snip--
tuner: chip found at addr 0xc0 i2c-bus ivtv i2c driver #0
--snip--
tveeprom: tuner = Philips FQ1236A MK4 (idx = 92, type = 57)
tveeprom: tuner fmt = NTSC(M) (eeprom = 0x08, v4l2 = 0x00001000)
--snip--
tuner: tuner type not set
--snip--
And, although I don't know much about ivtv, this line seems particularly
concerning to me also
msp3400: error while reading chip version
Is it possible that other drivers that I have compiled into my kernel
are causing problems? For example, if I have bttv and/or tuners compiled
in (not as modules), would this have any effect on ivtv? Currently,
under "Multimedia Devices", I have V4L enabled. Then under that I have
BT848, SAB3036, and Philips SAA7134, and Conexant 2388x enabled.
Any ideas?

Try without the module options (and with a cold boot).
