Mike thanks for responding. Did you make a test under windows ?
Did it also happen in ivtv-0.3.7 with the proposed firmware for you ?
So it happens with PAL as with NTSC based tuners on a PVR350:
38 (Philips PAL/SECAM multi (FM1216ME MK3)) 47 (LG NTSC (TAPE series))
It would be great if more people could a look at it and report their
experience and tunertype.
Thanks Ruud
No, I actually don't have windows installed on anything other than my
laptop because it came with it. Otherwise I would try it out.
It has been quite some time since I tried 2.x branch. But I seem to
remember the picture being a bit clearer. I'm not sure, I could just be
used to my 500 tuners. The 350 doesn't seem like its ever been quite as
good as my PVR-500 all around. For instance if I tune to channel 62 here
on Cox in Arizona, I get those lines like you have. But they are slanted
in a different direction. My 500 plays 62 perfectly. But if I use
channel 23 on either the 350 or the 500 the quality is perfect for both.
So I don't know what the deal is.
For 0.3.7, I do remember the 350 being worse than the 500. Although I
can't recall if it was those lines or just snow or ghosting. One thing
my 350 does do with 4.0 is that every once in a while it starts getting
this crazy digital noise in the top quarter of the screen horizonally
that flashes on and off. I havn't tried turning VBI off but I bet that
is what is causing the problems there. I think there are still some
issues with that but I've kept quite about it until I got more time to
try and figure out if I could reproduce it consistantly.
