The error message I am getting
ivtv0: unable to open firmware v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw
ivtv0: did you put the firmware in the hotplug
firmware directory?
ivtv0 warning: failed loading encoder firmware
ivtv0 warning: Error loading firmware -3!
ivtv0: Error -3 initializing firmware.
ivtv0: Error -12 on initialization

I'm using 2.6.16 kernel
I'm using Fedora Core 5
This is a clean install
I did a yum upgrade
Installed the 2.6.16-1.2069 kernel
I installed the ivtv-0.6.0 driver
I copied the firmwares to the /lib/module directory
and I tried the /lib/firmware.

I went to see why things weren't working and read this
on the ivtv 0.6 release.
- Firmware hotplug support is now REQUIRED.

"Post the errors you get rather than links to places
you think mean it is
broken"

I was doing the above to let you know I tried to do
some research before I posted here. I hate when
people post questions without at least doing a google
search!

Honestly if you have gotten this to work on FC5 then
just let me know what directory you placed the
firmware files. I should be able to get it to work
the rest of the way.
