Could it be a pci or internal ambient interference problem? Have you
tried a different slot? / moving it further away from other adapters,
etc.?

I'm also having quality issues with a PAL 500, the picture also seems
worse on one of the tuners. I already have a masthead amp, but will try
a second signal booster close to my Mythbox.
